Kanagawa, Japan - Sigma Corporation (Headquarters: Kawasaki-shi, Kanagawa, CEO: Kazuto Yamaki) is pleased to announce the adoption of "GoGreen Plus," a transport service utilizing SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) provided by DHL Global Forwarding, the air and ocean freight specialist of DHL Group, and DHL Express, its international express service provider. This initiative is part of Sigma's ongoing commitment to reducing the environmental impact of its international product shipments.

Building on its experimental implementation for express shipments, Sigma is now expanding "GoGreen Plus" to its air freight network through a partnership with DHL Global Forwarding. This rollout extends the service--which was previously limited to certain areas such as shipments to its German subsidiary--to its primary international shipping routes. This expansion allows Sigma to drive CO₂ emission reductions more systematically across its global logistics network.

GoGreen Plus is based on a commitment to genuine value chain decarbonization. It is implemented through the "Book & Claim" approach--a globally recognized methodology that decouples the environmental benefits of sustainable fuels from their physical movement. Under this scheme, DHL replaces fossil fuels with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) within its logistics network and allocates the resulting carbon reduction to customers as "Emission Reduction Certificates." This allows customers to contribute to verified decarbonization across the entire network, regardless of the specific transport route. Moving forward, Sigma will utilize this service primarily for shipments to certain overseas subsidiaries and gradually expand it, aiming for an approximate 10% reduction in CO₂ emissions on those specific routes.

The SAF utilized for this service is sourced from suppliers certified by independent organizations such as the ISCC (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) and the RSB (Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials). This ensures that the program operates under an internationally recognized and highly reliable traceability framework.

Sigma has long promoted environmental responsibility in its manufacturing operations--such as adopting biomass-derived resins for its products and implementing energy-saving measures. With this latest initiative, Sigma is extending its commitment to environmental performance into the logistics and transportation segments, striving for reduced environmental impact throughout the entire supply chain.
